The Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter in Lavonia is issuing a plea to the community as it reaches critical capacity.
The shelter must place 10 dogs — either through adoption or rescue — by Friday, May 30 at 4 p.m. in order to reduce overcrowding and return to a safe operational level.
Located at 870 Bear Creek Road, the shelter is calling on local animal lovers, rescue organizations, and potential adopters to help save lives. Photos and information about adoptable pets can be found on the shelter’s Facebook page and in their tagged photo section under Friends of Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter – Lavonia, GA.
Adoption fees
- Puppies: $100
- Adult dogs: $75
- Sterilized dogs: $40
- Cats/kittens: $45
The shelter is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
With time running out, shelter staff urge the public to act quickly to help these animals find loving homes or rescue placement.
