CLARKESVILLE, Ga. — North Georgia Technical College and Brenau University have signed an agreement creating a new pathway for NGTC students to pursue a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
Under the articulation agreement, graduates of NGTC’s Associate of Applied Science in Social Work Assistant program can transfer into Brenau’s Bachelor of Science in Psychology program. The agreement is designed to streamline the transfer process and reduce duplication of coursework.
“We are excited to partner with Brenau University to create seamless pathways for North Georgia Technical College students to continue their education and achieve their goals,” NGTC Interim President Dr. Michele Shirley said. “This agreement expands opportunities, supports student success, and reflects our shared commitment to accessible, high-quality education for the communities we serve.”

NGTC Vice President of Academic Affairs Stephanie Benson said the agreement also gives students interested in psychology and social services a clearer route to further their education.
“By creating a clear transfer pathway, we are reducing barriers and opening more opportunities for students to gain additional knowledge as they prepare for career opportunities in psychology and social services,” Benson said.
Top administrators from both schools attended the signing ceremony. The colleges say the partnership is intended to expand educational opportunities for students while helping meet workforce needs in North Georgia.
