Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan identified the victim of a deadly shooting at the Motel 6 on Victory Drive Wednesday September 16, 2026. Jonathan Tennie was shot and killed around 5pm at the Columbus motel.
The coroner said the 35-year-old was dead on the scene but brought to a local hospital by members of the community. A suspect for the shooting was in police custody but not publicly identified. Buddy Bryan also made the distinction that the incident was being investigated as a homicide not a murder.
