Mobile home destroyed in early morning fire near Toccoa

Just after midnight Tuesday, August 20, firefighters from the Toccoa and Carnes Creek fire departments responded to a structure fire at Sunset Lane and Collins Road.

When crews arrived, they found heavy flames and thick smoke pouring from a mobile home. Firefighters launched an interior attack and conducted a search sweep of the residence. Within an hour, the blaze was under control, according to fire officials.

No injuries were reported, but the home was declared a total loss.
