Marty Ray Black, age 52, of Demorest, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, following a sudden illness.
Mr. Black was born on September 20, 1963, in Gastonia, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Elaine Worthy Black and brother, Kenneth Todd Black.
Survivors include father: Clarence Kenneth Black, Demorest, GA; mother: Wanda Biggerstaff, Cramerton, NC; son: Kyle Carnes, Ocean Isle Beach, NC; sisters: Lynn Thrower, Clemmons, NC, Beth Bradshaw, Hudson, NC, and Tracy Pilkington, Mount Holly, NC; and brother and sister-in-law: Stacy and Lee Black, Bishop, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Pastor Mike Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday, August 12, 2016, at the funeral home.
