BUFORD, Ga. — Couples planning their weddings will have an opportunity to explore venues, meet vendors and gather inspiration during a free Bridal & Wedding Expo at Lanier Islands Resort on July 19.
The event will take place from noon to 3 p.m. at Legacy Lodge & Conference Center and is being produced in partnership with Georgia Peach State Bridal Show, a four-time Best of Georgia award winner.
Organizers said the expo will feature a runway showcase of the latest wedding gowns, live music and DJ entertainment, vendor exhibits and interactive experiences designed to help engaged couples plan their weddings. Admission is free, although a VIP option includes early admission, a swag bag and a bridal sash.
Attendees will have opportunities to meet wedding planners, photographers, florists, DJs and other industry professionals. The event will also include live demonstrations, bridal gown and tuxedo fittings, a magazine-style photo booth and prize giveaways.
Among the prizes are wedding gowns, tuxedos, floral arrangements, dance lessons, photo shoots and a three-tier wedding cake.
Tara Smith, relations manager for Georgia Peach State Bridal Show, said the event will allow couples to experience the resort’s wedding venues firsthand while connecting with regional wedding professionals.
“Couples will leave The Georgia Peach State Bridal Show with the primary resources needed to execute a luxury wedding,” Smith said in a statement.
Organizers said guests can expect a catered environment featuring carving stations, baked goods and an open bar.
According to resort officials, the event is designed to accommodate a range of wedding styles and budgets while showcasing the resort’s indoor and outdoor venues, guest accommodations and amenities.
Matthew Bowling, president of Lanier Islands Resort, said the expo offers couples an opportunity to determine whether the lakeside destination aligns with their wedding vision.
“With more than a dozen indoor and outdoor venues from which to choose, we invite our Expo guests to explore the Islands to see if we’re the perfect fit for their vision of their special day,” Bowling said.
The resort, located on Lake Lanier about 45 miles north of Atlanta, offers accommodations, dining, recreational activities and wedding venues that can accommodate ceremonies, receptions and related events.
Advance registration is encouraged. The expo is scheduled for Sunday, July 19, at Legacy Lodge & Conference Center in Buford.
