The Troup County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division recently conducted an investigation regarding the rape of a 10-year-old female that occurred several years ago. During this investigation, another victim came forward and an investigation was initiated regarding this other incident.
On April 10, 2026, the suspect in these cases, Jake Sweatt, 45 years of age, of Hogansville, was arrested on two counts of Rape. Both victims were under the age of 16 years at the time of the crimes.
