CLEVELAND, Ga. — A White County grand jury has indicted 41-year-old Andrew Landrum Waddell in connection with an Aug. 29 shooting that wounded a woman.

Waddell faces charges of criminal attempt to commit a felony, two counts of aggravated battery, four counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a first-offender probationer, according to court documents.

When White County deputies responded to the shooting around 1:30 a.m. Aug. 29, they found a woman who had been shot in the face, according to Sheriff Rick Kelley. White County EMS transported her to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. Authorities reported she was recovering from her injuries.

Investigators identified Waddell as the suspected shooter and initially obtained an arrest warrant charging him with aggravated assault.

Law enforcement located him at a family member’s home in Baldwin. The Banks County SWAT Team took Waddell into custody without incident, Kelley said.

Waddell’s indictment was among 27 returned by the October-term White County Grand Jury.
