RUSSELL COUNTY, Ala. — A Georgia man has died after a single-vehicle crash in Russell County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. The incident occurred at approximately 12:15 p.m. Monday, September 21, 2026.
The crash victim, identified as Alexander Harvey, 36, of Omaha, Ga., was fatally injured when the 2002 Chevrolet Corvette he was driving left the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned. Harvey was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected, and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash occurred on Cottonton Road near Briar Creek Road, approximately 25 miles south of Phenix City, in Russell County.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the fatal accident.
