GAINESVILLE, Ga. — A Gainesville man already jailed on child exploitation charges now faces 400 additional felony counts after investigators uncovered hundreds of explicit files during a forensic review of his electronic devices, officials said.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit announced the new charges against 32-year-old Benjamin Larmar Gudmundson following an ongoing investigation into child sexual abuse material.
According to investigators, a recent forensic examination of Gudmundson’s cell phone and computer revealed more than 400 images and videos depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Authorities secured warrants for the additional charges on Monday, April 20.
Gudmundson has been in custody since May 20, 2025, when deputies arrested him while executing a search warrant at his residence. During that initial operation, investigators seized multiple electronic devices and charged him with 20 felony counts of sexual exploitation of children.
The case began in February 2025 after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) sent two cybertip reports to local authorities, prompting the investigation.
Officials say the forensic review of Gudmundson’s devices is still ongoing. He remains in the Hall County Jail.
