
ATHENS, Ga. — Four people have been arrested following an armed robbery Friday afternoon in Athens, according to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.
Officers responded at about 2:21 p.m. March 26 to a report of an armed robbery in the 400 block of Minor Street, Lt. Katie Jenkins, the department’s public information officer, said.
During the investigation, officers located the suspects at 700 U.S. Highway 29. Stolen property was recovered.
Authorities arrested Emory Simmons, 22, of Athens; Zachariah Roberts, 18, of Colbert; Sherod Porter, 22, of Hull; and Raequan Thomas, 22, of Athens. All four are charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
