HALL COUNTY, Ga. — A series of fires across Hall County has destroyed four homes in less than 48 hours, including two separate incidents Monday afternoon.

The latest fire was reported around 2 p.m. on the 4300 block of Ledan Extension in Gainesville. Hall County Fire Rescue crews arrived to find heavy fire conditions in a single-story home located down a long dirt road. Firefighters attacked the blaze from both inside and outside the structure, but the home was ultimately destroyed.

Both residents were accounted for, and no injuries were reported. The cause remains under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office.

Just an hour earlier, crews responded to another residential fire in Lula. Around 1 p.m., firefighters were called to the 5600 block of Hemlock Street, where they found a double-wide mobile home fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters launched a defensive attack and brought the bulk of the fire under control. Flames spread to nearby woods and ignited two vehicles, but crews were able to contain those as well.

A primary search confirmed no one was inside the home, and both residents were accounted for. The structure was a total loss, and the American Red Cross was called to assist two displaced adults. The cause of that fire is also under investigation.

The back-to-back fires follow two more incidents on Sunday.

An early morning fire April 19 destroyed a home northwest of Gainesville. Later that evening, another fire southeast of Gainesville consumed a single-story residence. During that response, firefighters rescued several kittens from the property.
