Cornelia Johnson Farmer

Cornelia Johnson Farmer, age 91 of Cleveland and formerly of Stone Mountain, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2026.

Born in Lithonia, Georgia on April 22, 1934, Mrs. Farmer was the daughter of the late Dan Johnson and the late Lillie Hill Johnson Lawson.  She graduated from Lithonia High School in 1952 and attended Georgia State University. She was a secretary at the Continental Insurance Company in Atlanta.

She loved her children and grandchildren and always put the needs of others ahead of herself.  She was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning, preserving, and cooking for a crowd. She enjoyed spending time watching and feeding the birds around her home.  She loved to shop and add to her extensive collection of antiques and curiosities.  Mrs. Farmer attended Zion Interdenominational Church in Cleveland.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Farmer is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, J.D. Farmer and brother Norman Johnson.

Survivors include daughter and son in law Tracie Farmer Scott (David) of Smoke Rise, sons and daughters in law, Casey Farmer (Missy) of Snellville and Stacy Farmer (Kim) of Mt. Airy, grandchildren, Margaret Scott of Atlanta, William Scott of Smoke Rise, Patrick Scott of Smoke Rise, Ashley Farmer of Snellville, and Tyler Farmer of Statesboro, brother and sister in law Robert Lawson (Linda) of Snellville, as well as, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and extended family.

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Hillside Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gary Heffner officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, prior to the service, from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
