CLARKESVILLE, Ga. — The Clarkesville City Council will take up two alcohol license requests and recognize local students during its regular meeting Monday night.
The council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. May 4 at City Hall, according to the published agenda.
Alcohol license requests
Under new business, council members will consider two separate alcohol-related applications.
The first request comes from BP Clarkesville 442 Inc., which is seeking approval to sell package beer and wine at its location on Washington Street.
A second request involves Oasis of Clarkesville LLC, which is asking for approval to sell liquor, beer and wine for on-premises consumption as a bar or tavern on Monroe Street.
Both items are listed for discussion and a vote.
Georgia Cities Week recognition
Council members will also announce and recognize winners of the Georgia Cities Week Coloring Contest, an annual event aimed at engaging local students and highlighting municipal government.
Other business
The meeting will begin with an invocation led by John Burke, followed by approval of recent meeting minutes from April work sessions and council meetings.
Department heads are expected to provide updates through committee reports, including finance, Main Street, public safety and economic development.
The agenda includes time for public comment before council members consider whether to enter executive session. The meeting will conclude with adjournment.
