Burglary investigation leads to 2 arrests, meth trafficking charge

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ga. — Two people face charges after a Franklin County burglary investigation led authorities to make arrests in two counties.

Investigators identified Natavious Darell Hargrove of Martin and Dalena Leegail Baker of Toccoa as suspects in a burglary at 110 Crawford Road.

Baker was arrested near Jenkins Ferry Road in Stephens County on the morning of Sept. 15. She was charged with burglary, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said Hargrove had outstanding battery warrants from Stephens County and was considered potentially violent and a flight risk. Because of those concerns, Franklin County Sheriff Scott Andrews sent Franklin County Sheriff’s Response Team to arrest Hargrove at 224 Crawford Road in Martin later that day. A Georgia State Patrol K-9 unit assisted.

Hargrove was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with burglary, trafficking methamphetamine and possession of drug-related objects.

The investigation began when deputies responded to the reported burglary shortly after 4 p.m. Sept. 14. Investigators processed the scene and worked into the night to identify the suspects and obtain arrest warrants, the sheriff’s office said.

Andrews praised investigators for quickly developing the case. The investigation remains active, and additional charges are possible.
