Raiders Fall to Northview 54-31
The Habersham Central Raiders lit up the scoreboard Friday night in a way they haven’t done in a while. The Raiders scored 31 points in their home conference game against Northview. Still, it wasn’t enough to carry them to the win column. The Titans answered their points and then some, beating the Raiders 54-31.
The Raiders are now 0-2 under new head coach Benji Harrison, 0-1 in conference play.
Next up, the Raiders take on South Forsyth at Cumming on September 11. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

Alto Man Arrested in Pot Bust
An Alto man faces drug charges after authorities say they found marijuana growing on his property.
Alto Man Injured in Motorcycle Wreck
(Cleveland)- An Alto man was injured Thursday when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed on Highway 75 north of Helen, near Unicoi Gap. White County Sheriff Captain Tim Chapman said the accident was dispatched at 12:39 pm. Chapman said 73-year old Tony Waldon of Alto was traveling south on Highway 75, when he lost control of his Harley Davidson motorcycle and ran off the road down an embankment about 120 feet.
White County Fire and Rescue personnel were also dispatched and Public Safety Director David Murphy said they had to utilize their rope rescue team to get the victim out.
Waldon was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
The southbound lane of Highway 75 was closed for just over two hours while rescue efforts were underway.
Director Murphy said, the victim is the father-in-Law of State Emergency Management Agency Director Jim Butterworth and Butterworth has already reached out to the local emergency personnel in White County to congratulate them on how well the team did in this situation.
