Alto Man Arrested in Pot Bust

An Alto man faces drug charges after authorities say they found marijuana growing on his property. 48-year old Leroy Gragg was arrested Thursday during a joint operation with the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO), Georgia Governor’s Task Force and Habersham County Sheriff’s Office.

ARDEO Special Agent in Charge Mitchell Posey says agents, acting on a tip, located three marijuana plants being grown at the residence at 214 Alto Street. He says agents also found marijuana inside the house.

Posey puts the street value of the drugs at $13,500.

Gragg was booked into the Habersham County Detention Center. He’s charged with manufacturing marijuana and possession of marijuana less than 1 oz.
