HABERSHAM COUNTY, Ga. — The search for a man who fled from deputies earlier this week has ended with his arrest, according to the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Robin Krockum identified the suspect as 52-year-old Stacy Arrowood.

Deputies were attempting to serve warrants on Arrowood on Monday afternoon, April 20, when the situation escalated, and he ran on foot. Authorities say he disappeared into a wooded area off Falling Water Drive, prompting a heavy law enforcement response near the Habersham-White County line.

The sheriff’s office later suspended the active manhunt, saying investigators believed Arrowood may have been picked up from the area.

However, the search took a turn when dispatch received a call that Arrowood was possibly back at the same residence where deputies had initially tried to locate him.

On April 21, deputies responded to the tip and found Arrowood hiding in a storm shelter behind the home. He was taken into custody without incident.

Arrowood, of Alto, was initially wanted on a probation warrant for obstruction in White County. He is now charged with obstruction in Habersham.
