A Muscogee County Sheriff’s deputy and his K9 were injured in a crash on highway I-185 near the JR Allen Parkway late Tuesday October 13, 2026. The two vehicles appear to be totaled from the collision.
The deputy’s vehicle was stationary on the highway while he was monitoring traffic according to multiple reports. The driver who plowed into the back of the deputy was allegedly distracted and speeding at the time of crash. Both drivers were taken to the hospital for treatment.
It is unclear if the driver who caused the crash is in custody. This is a developing story.
