HALL COUNTY, Ga. — Crews have reopened Candler Road to traffic after an overturned tractor-trailer spilled an estimated 60,000 pounds of garbage onto the roadway Thursday morning.
The 18-wheeler overturned on Candler Road between Old Candler Road and I-985, forcing that section of the road to close while crews worked to clear the wreckage and debris.
No injuries were reported.
Cleanup was initially expected to continue through the morning rush hour due to the amount of garbage spilled from the truck. Crews worked quickly, however, and officials later reported that Candler Road was passable.
Motorists are urged to continue using caution in the area as cleanup operations wrap up.
The Georgia Department of Public Safety’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement division is investigating the crash.
