A little over a year ago, two veteran broadcasters, Mitzi Oxford and Robbie Watson, started a bureau in the Chattahoochee Valley for an online news publication, www.NowGeorgia.com. What began in Habersham County became successful there, gaining thousands of followers across the state, but the goal was always to expand.
Now Georgia publisher Joy Purcell was once the Assistant News Director at WRBL in Columbus. You might remember her father, Ben Purcell, the highest-ranking Army officer captured in Vietnam, having been a colonel when his helicopter was shot down in 1968.
From connections to Fort Benning and highlighting small businesses from Auburn to Manchester and relevant and timely investigative reporting in LaGrange and Wedowee, that is the West Central Georgia bureau’s commitment to you.
