Terrell L. “Terry” Sosebee

Terrell L. “Terry” Sosebee, age 76, of Lula, Georgia, crossed over to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 13, 2026.

Mr. Sosebee was born on April 2, 1950, in Hall County, Georgia, to the late Carlton Henry Sosebee and Ethel Lee Burton Sosebee Raines O’Kelley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Imogene Hawkins Sosebee.

Terrell was a founding member of Friendly Mission Baptist Church, a place and ministry that held special meaning to him. He loved going to church; he could be found on his pew in the back of the church. He was a man who believed in serving his community and took pride in being a part of something that would continue to serve families for generations to come. Throughout his working life, Terrell worked in construction, where he was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to get the job done. He later served as a property manager, a role he was faithfully fulfilling until his passing.

Outside of work, Terrell had a genuine appreciation for the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed relaxing while watching his favorite westerns, and he loved being outdoors. Most days, you could find him sitting on his front porch drinking coffee surrounded by his family. He especially enjoyed birdwatching and plane watching, taking time to observe the world around him and appreciate the little things, like picking his tomatoes. Terrell had a gentle heart and never said a bad thing about anyone. While Terrell accomplished much throughout his life, his greatest joy and proudest role was being a father and a “Papa.” He was an amazing father who loved his family deeply, and his grandchildren held a very special place in his heart. The memories they made together, the wisdom he shared, and the love he gave so freely will be treasured by his grands for years to come.

Survivors include his sons, Chris Sosebee, of Lula; Jason and Angela Sosebee, of Cornelia; Johnny Wingo, of Darlington, SC; daughter, Tina and Kyle Perkins, of St. Pete, FL; grandchildren, Blake (Savannah) Sosebee, Ethan Sosebee, Hailey Powell, Matt (Casey) Sosebee, Regan Sosebee, Rick Sosebee, Andrew R.
