Cleveland man charged with shooting woman in face

CLEVELAND, Ga. — A Cleveland man is being held without bond after authorities say he shot a woman in the face early Saturday, Aug. 29.

White County sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported shooting in the Lothridge Road area around 1:30 a.m. and found the wounded woman, according to Sheriff Rick Kelley. White County EMS transported her to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. She is recovering from her injuries.

Investigators identified 41-year-old Andrew Landrum Waddell as the suspected shooter and obtained an arrest warrant charging him with aggravated assault.

“With assistance from the Habersham and Banks County Sheriff’s Offices, Waddell was located at a family member’s home in Baldwin. A search warrant was obtained, and members of the Banks County SWAT Team took Waddell into custody without incident,” Kelley said.

Waddell remains in the White County Jail without bond.
