FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Fire damaged a Flowery Branch home Saturday afternoon, but the person inside escaped safely and no injuries were reported.

Hall County 911 received a call around 4:30 p.m. Aug. 15 from a resident reporting smoke inside a home in the 6000 block of Big Sky Drive.

Hall County Fire Rescue crews arrived to find smoke coming from the garage of the two-story, single-family home. Firefighters entered the home and ran a hose line to the second floor, where a bedroom was on fire.

Crews quickly knocked down and extinguished the flames, said Bobby Ogletree of Hall County Fire Rescue. He said the resident safely evacuated the home before firefighers arrived.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
