PENDERGRASS, Ga. — Siemens plans to invest at least $185 million in a new advanced manufacturing facility in Jackson County, creating more than 1,400 jobs over the next three years.
The approximately 550,000-square-foot facility is planned for 580 Raco Parkway near Pendergrass, pending final approvals.
Buildout is expected to begin in November, with hiring slated to start in 2027 for engineering, fabrication, assembly and testing positions. The facility will manufacture low-voltage electrical components.
“For 140 years, Siemens has been a valued part of Georgia’s business community, and this latest investment decision is another testament to the strong economic partnership between our state and Germany,” Gov. Brian Kemp said when announcing the project. “We are proud to support this next chapter of growth and look forward to the impact of these quality jobs on the Pendergrass community and the surrounding area.”
Siemens, a global technology company specializing in electrification, automation and industrial software, already employs more than 1,700 people at two manufacturing facilities and six offices in Georgia.
Barry Powell, North America president of Siemens’ Electrical Products business unit, said Georgia’s business environment, skilled workforce and proximity to the company’s existing operations and Southeast supply chain made it a “natural choice” for the investment.
“Building this facility strengthens our ability to serve customers more efficiently while expanding advanced manufacturing capacity in a region that is already home to many of the technicians, suppliers, and industry expertise that support our business,” Powell said.
Jackson County Board of Commissioners Chairman Marty Clark said the investment will create high-quality jobs, expand the county’s manufacturing base and strengthen workforce opportunities.
The Georgia Department of Economic Development worked with the Jackson County Area Chamber of Commerce, Jackson County Industrial Development Authority, Georgia Power and Georgia Quick Start on the project.
Siemens Corporation is the U.S. subsidiary of Germany-based Siemens AG. The company employs more than 50,000 people across the United States.
Information about future job openings will be available through Siemens’ careers website.
