
The Muscogee County Coroner has identified the woman killed in a head on collision Wednesday July 8, 2026. Eileen Todd was pronounced dead from blunt force trauma at 12:24 pm in the Piedmont Emergency room in Columbus.
The 69-year-old Todd was a passenger inside a vehicle that collided head on with another vehicle that crossed the center line on North Lake Parkway. Her son was driving but not injured in the deadly crash that occurred on the heavily traveled road in North Columbus. Todd was wearing a seatbelt according to the coroner Buddy Bryan.
The victim is scheduled for an autopsy due to charges pending against the other driver who has not been identified. The Columbus Police Department’s motor squad is investigating the accident that closed the road for several hours Wednesday.
