UPDATE: The Russell County Coroner identified the victim involved in a rollover accident as 52-year-old Patrick Deon Tarver of Phenix City, AL. The deadly crash on the morning of Wednesday July 8, 2026, occurred at Brickyard and Haley Road.
Coroner Arthur Sumbry said Tarver was driving a Ford Escape when he rolled the vehicle off the road into a wooded area in the single vehicle accident. Tarver was pronounced dead on the scene at 7:58 am from massive, blunt force head injuries. A toxicology/blood test was performed, and the accident is under investigation by the Phenix City Police Department and the Russell County Coroner’s Office.
