Atlanta Braves hotspot experiences GOP takeover for election night

(Georgia Recorder) — The Battery is normally packed for a ballgame at Truist Park, but tonight, it’s the center of Republican politics.

Wealthy healthcare executive Rick Jackson and Attorney General Chris Carr, both Republican candidates for governor, as well as Derek Dooley, a candidate for the U.S. Senate, are all scattered across the north Atlanta entertainment district.

Jackson is hosting an election night party at the The Omni hotel while Carr is at Live! at the Battery. Dooley is hosting his own event at Park Bench Battery. Secretary of State Brad Raffensperfer is near the Battery at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel.

But Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, also a Republican candidate for governor, and Republican U.S. Rep. Mike Collins, a candidate for Senate, are holding their election night events a few miles apart in Butts County, about an hour south of Atlanta.
