State Rep. Tanya Miller, an Atlanta Democrat, will be the Democratic candidate in Georgia’s attorney general race this fall.

“None of this would be possible without my family, friends, and an incredible team who believed in this mission from the start,” Miller said in a statement Tuesday night. “Together, we built a growing, diverse coalition of volunteers and neighbors who carried this campaign and I am grateful for every single one of them.”
As of 8 p.m. Miller held a 85% lead over her opponent, former House Minority Leader Bob Trammell of Luthersville.
“The voters of Georgia have spoken, and I congratulate my friend Rep. Miller on a decisive victory,” Trammell said. “It’s time Georgia has a Democratic Attorney General who stands for the rule of law, and I look forward to doing everything I can to get Rep Miller elected as our next Attorney General.”
Miller will likely face state Sen. Brian Strickland, a McDonough Republican, in the general election. Strickland held a considerable lead over longtime state Sen. Bill Cowsert of Athens.
