
RABUN COUNTY, Ga. — A Rabun Gap man is in custody following a child abuse investigation involving multiple serious allegations, according to the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrested 28-year-old Skyler Nathaniel Akins after an investigation into alleged incidents that authorities say occurred over multiple dates in 2025 and into 2026.
Akins faces several felony charges, including rape, sexual battery, three counts of child molestation, two counts of aggravated sexual battery, and aggravated assault. He is also charged with three counts of cruelty to animals, a misdemeanor.
Akins was taken into custody on March 25. He remains in the Rabun County Detention Center.
