HABERSHAM COUNTY, Ga. — On National Theater Day, stages across Northeast Georgia are doing what they do best: bringing stories to life and giving communities a reason to gather, connect, and be inspired.
From historic playhouses to school auditoriums, local productions are more than performances; they’re experiences built by neighbors, students, and storytellers right here at home.

In Dillard, audiences can step into the classic world of Fiddler on the Roof, as the North Georgia Community Players continue the tradition of powerful, community-driven productions.

In White County, student performers are taking center stage. White County High School is presenting The Little Mermaid this weekend, giving audiences a chance to catch a high-energy, family-friendly show brought to life by local students.
Not far behind them, White County Middle School is preparing for its upcoming production of Beauty and the Beast, continuing the pipeline of young talent stepping into the spotlight.

In Habersham County, the Habersham Central High School Stage Raiders are continuing to build momentum. Their recent production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers showcased the strength of their program, and now they’re preparing for an upcoming in-the-round performance, an immersive format that places the audience at the center of the action and offers a completely different theater experience.
The Habersham Community Theater is also bringing a different kind of intensity to the stage with its production of Rope, offering a gripping, intimate experience inside the Habersham Community Theater Playhouse.
And in Dahlonega, the Holly Theater is taking audiences on a high-flying adventure with Peter Pan Jr., bringing a classic story to life for all ages inside one of North Georgia’s most iconic venues.

Across every stage, one thing remains the same: these productions are powered by local talent, long rehearsal nights, and a shared passion for storytelling.
On National Theater Day, it’s a reminder that some of the best performances aren’t found in big cities, but right here in our own communities.
Support local theater. Show up. Take a seat. Experience the story.
