GAINESVILLE, Ga. — A house fire early Wednesday morning destroyed a Gainesville home, displacing four adults and a child.

No injuries were reported, officials said.

Hall County Fire Rescue crews responded around 7 a.m. to the 3400 block of Montgomery Drive after receiving reports of a residential fire.

When firefighters arrived, they found a single-story home fully engulfed in flames. Crews launched an exterior attack and were able to quickly bring the bulk of the fire under control, said Hall County Fire Rescue Public Information Officer Kimberlie Ledsinger.

Firefighters conducted a primary search of the home and confirmed no one was inside. Ledsinger said the home is considered a total loss. She said the American Red Cross has been called in to assist the displaced residents.

The cause of the fire remains unknown. The Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
