TIGER, Ga. — A 29-year-old man wanted on multiple felony charges in Rabun County has been returned to Georgia after being taken into custody in Texas, according to the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies traveled to Texas on March 9 to take custody of Brennan Luke Fogarty under a governor’s warrant stemming from charges filed by the Sky Valley Police Department, the sheriff’s office said in a news release dated March 16.
Following extradition procedures, Fogarty was released to Rabun County deputies and transported back to Georgia. He was booked into the Rabun County Detention Center on the evening of March 10.
Authorities say Fogarty faces multiple felony charges, including aggravated stalking, terroristic threats and acts, violation of a family violence order, and harassing phone calls.
The charges stem from warrants obtained by the Sky Valley Police Department during its investigation, according to the sheriff’s office. The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the extradition and booking process to ensure Fogarty was returned to Rabun County to face the pending charges in Superior Court.
Fogarty remains in custody at the Rabun County Detention Center pending further court proceedings.
The sheriff’s office said it will continue working with the Sky Valley Police Department and other agencies to ensure public safety and enforce outstanding warrants.
