CLEVELAND, Ga. – Saturday was a wildly successful day for the White County Animal Control and Planned Pethood free vaccination day. A total of 210 pets were provided free veterinary care. The free clinic was held at the White County Agriculture Center north of Cleveland.

Officials said, in just four hours on March 14, 151 dogs and 59 cats received essential preventive care, including rabies vaccines, distemper/parvo, microchips, and flea and tick prevention. For many families, the clinic made a real difference.

One mother shared that she had been trying for months to take her dog and cat to a veterinarian but couldn’t fit the cost into the household budget while supporting her two high school sons in the sports they love. Another attendee said the money she saved on her cats’ vaccines will now go toward repairing her home after recent storm damage.

White County Animal Control said four 11-week-old littermate puppies brought to the event were adopted into a new home.

White County Animal Control had special thanks for all sponsors, donors, volunteers, staff, and the White County community for making this clinic possible.
