Rabun County Sheriff: Alleged drug trafficker may be evading arrest in North Carolina

The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to find a suspected drug trafficker. Officials believe Austin Scott Groom may be evading arrest in North Carolina.

Investigators took out arrest warrants on Groom last week following a narcotics investigation and search in Clayton. He’s accused of trafficking methamphetamine and possession of meth.

On April 14, investigators executed a search warrant at 776 North Germany Mountain Road. During the search, they found a trafficking amount of methamphetamine, digital scales, and other drug-related objects, the sheriff’s office says.

Anyone with information on Groom’s whereabouts is asked to contact Captain Marty Talley at 706-960-9744. Tips may also be submitted anonymously to [email protected] or through the Rabun County Sheriff GA App.
