CLEVELAND, Ga. – The White County Board of Commissioners approved a proclamation during their work session and called meeting on Monday to recognize April 13-17 as Exceptional Children’s Week.

The proclamation states, “Since its inception, Georgia Exceptional Children’s Week has served to spotlight the capabilities of children and youth with exceptionalities and the programs that support them in their communities; and whereas, nearly 700 students in the White County School System are currently receiving special education services.”

The week’s activities will highlight the incredible abilities, achievements, and potential of students with exceptionalities, while also recognizing the teachers, families, and programs that support them every day.
