Warriors win over War Eagles

CLEVELAND, Ga. (WRWHW Radio) — The White County Warriors were able to get back into basketball action Thursday night following the postponements due to winter weather earlier this week. The Warriors were at home taking on the Chestatee War Eagles.

The Lady Warriors struggled to keep control of the ball at the start of the game, resulting in multiple turnovers.  But were able to get it together and maintained a double-digit lead throughout each period. Finishing the game with a 27-point lead with a final score of Warriors 62, War Eagles 35.

While the girls were able to maintain a lead through the game, the boys had to fight to get ahead. They managed to lead at the end of the first by one point, ending the first at 14 to 13. However, the Warriors would be down by 6, going into halftime at 33 to 27, Chestatee.

The lead would change again at the end of the third period with the Warriors up by a single point, 47 to 46.  The final period would end on a high note as the Warriors would tie up the game with less than 30 seconds remaining.  Chestatee would turn the ball over, and a huge play by Luke Goldman would push the Warriors ahead by just a single point. The final buzzer sounded with the Warriors ahead 62-61.
