
Verna Brantley Aycock, age 89, of Alto, Georgia, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026.
Mrs. Aycock was born on November 9, 1936, in Hancock County, Georgia, to the late Allen Hautell Brantley and Laura Elizabeth Gipson Brantley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Thomas Aycock; her daughter, Alisa Thomas; and son-in-law, Tim Thomas. Verna was a graduate of South Habersham High School and was a member of Alto Baptist Church. She served as an Accounting Receptionist with Fleming Food Service for 23 years.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Donna Aycock, of Aiken, SC; sisters, Elaine White, of Gainesville; Janet Gailey, of Baldwin; three grandchildren, Rylee Thomas, Corey Aycock and his wife, Kimmie; Katie Reynolds; great-grandchildren, Ainslee Aycock, Quinn Reynolds, and Maeve Stone; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, with Rev. Roy Rogers and Rev. Darren Palmer officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the funeral home.
