Concerns over steam system cause for shut down this season
(Cleveland)- Earlier this month White County school officials reported that the White County Cannery would not operate this canning season due to safety  concerns. An update from the school system advised the steam system, which includes steam lines and boiler, needs to be updated to assure the safety of community members who use the facility.
As reported earlier  the current facility is being assessed and evaluated for anticipated operation for the 2019 season.
If you have questions about the cannery you can contact the White County High School Agriculture Department at 706-865-2312.
