CLEVELAND, Ga. — Truett McConnell University relaunched its World Missions Center on Monday, Oct. 12, with a goal of expanding student and faculty involvement in missions across campus.
Center Coordinator Gracie Hudson hopes the space will encourage students to learn about missions, engage with global needs and make missions part of everyday campus life.
The relaunch included two sessions inviting students, faculty and staff to explore the center and learn how to participate. Stephanie Lyon shared her missions experiences in London and Armenia, while TMU senior James Lester discussed his summer serving in Europe with Greater Europe Missions.
Senior Global Studies student Kaylee Wimpey led a refugee simulation based on testimonies from refugees across Europe. The exercise encouraged participants to better understand refugees’ experiences and pray for people and missions work in the region.
Hudson’s vision includes students and faculty from every discipline, along with student-athletes, working together to support the university’s Christian mission.
Through the center, she hopes to make missions a regular part of campus conversations, prayer and collaboration.
