TOCCOA, Ga. — A malfunctioning brake light led to the arrest of a man wanted on multiple felony charges in Toccoa on Tuesday, police said.
According to the Toccoa Police Department, an officer conducted a traffic stop on October 14 near the intersection of Currahee Street and Lily Lane after observing the vehicle’s defective brake light. The vehicle turned onto Busha Street, where the officer made contact with the driver and identified him as Billy Peeples.
A records check revealed that Peeples had active felony warrants issued by a Toccoa police investigator. The warrants stemmed from charges of theft by taking, criminal damage to property, and theft by deception, the police department said.
Peeples was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Stephens County Jail.
