TFS roundup: Pulliam stays hot, soccer rolls to eighth straight win, middle school baseball falls

TALLULAH FALLS, Ga. — Tallulah Falls School athletics saw another strong showing Thursday, highlighted by a third straight low medalist finish from Max Pulliam, a dominant shutout win for the boys soccer team, and a high-scoring middle school baseball matchup.

Pulliam leads golf in split with Flowery Branch

The TFS golf teams split a match with Flowery Branch, with the boys earning a 161-188 win while the Lady Indians fell just short, 92-90.

Max Pulliam continued his strong start to the season, earning low medalist honors for the third consecutive match with a 38 (+2). Ryder Cantrell followed closely with a 39, while Rylee Smith and Owen Earp each carded a 42.

Kalvin Ngov shot a 46, Emmitt Likins a 47, and Tate Turpin and Jayden Hangbo each posted 49s. Wyatt Dorsey rounded out the group with a 59.

On the girls side, Maeve Hatcher led TFS with a 45, followed by Handley James at 47.

“For the boys, this was our lowest team score of the year in a 9-hole match,” coach CJ Stockel said. “It’s still early in the season, but the hard work is starting to pay off.”

Indians soccer wins eighth straight, blanks Lakeview

The sixth-ranked Indians boys soccer team secured its eighth consecutive win with a 10-0 shutout over Lakeview.

Alberto Battino and Lucas Woodland combined for the clean sheet, with Woodland recording two saves. The win improved TFS to 8-1 overall and 5-0 in region play, with four shutouts on the season.

Kale Borchers led the offensive surge with a hat trick, while Versean Turnquest added two goals. Simon Gainzarain Hernando, Ryan Kelsick, Tyson Hall, Alex Jelly and Fabricio Turner Sandoval also scored.

Turnquest and Turner Sandoval each recorded two assists, while Avery Chatman and Borchers added one apiece.

“The boys moved the ball the best they have all season and were able to really cause issues for Lakeview with quick one-touch passes and movement into space,” coach Jeremy Stille said.

Middle school baseball falls in slugfest

The TFS middle school baseball team dropped a 13-8 decision to Lanier Christian in a back-and-forth contest.

The Indians jumped out to a 6-0 lead with five runs in the first inning and another in the second, but Lanier Christian responded with four runs in the second inning and continued to build momentum late.

Easton Pollock led TFS with three hits, two RBIs and a run scored. Brody Dampier added two hits and scored three runs, while also recording a double and three stolen bases.

Aiden Terrell and Brayden Sosebee each had two hits, with Sosebee driving in two runs. Rhett Addison and Jase Cox added one hit apiece.

Tallulah Falls fell to 2-2 on the season.
