A death investigation is underway in Taylor County after an individual was discovered deceased Friday August 7, 2026. Deputy Coroner David Windham tells NowGeorgia.com the identity of the person and the exact cause of death is being withheld pending results of an ongoing investigation.
The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 2 pm Friday of a possible drowning at the Flint River Bridge located at Hwy 128, Crawford and Taylor County line. The sheriff’s office was assisted by the GBI, Butler Fire/Rescue, and DNR in recovering the deceased individual. The investigation is in its early stages, and no further information is available at this time.
