TALLULAH FALLS, Ga. — The Tallulah Falls School bass fishing team turned in a strong performance Saturday, finishing as state runner-up at the GIAA State Championship on Lake Hartwell while also securing a berth in the national championship.

Competing April 4, the Indians earned All-State honors for the 2025-26 season and claimed Big Fish honors for the tournament, capping what the program described as an “incredible day on the lake.”

With the runner-up finish, Tallulah Falls qualified for the national championship, which will be held in Russell Springs, Kentucky, on Lake Cumberland.

Anglers DJ Broome and Shepard Crumley led the way for the Indians. The duo recorded their third top-10 finish at the state level, marking their highest placement to date. The result also secures their second appearance in a national championship tournament.

The strong showing continues a trend of success for the Tallulah Falls program, which has consistently placed among the top teams in the state in recent seasons.
