Suspects wanted after two killed in LaGrange apartment shooting

On Monday, March 30, 2026, at 5:35pm, LaGrange Police responded to 1600 Meadow Terrace, Cameron Crossing Apartment Complex, in reference to a person being shot in the parking lot. Upon arrival, officers located a female victim, identified as Jakhala Moss, age 26, unresponsive and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

As emergency medical aid was being provided, witnesses in the area indicated that there was possibly another victim inside of Moss’s apartment. Officers immediately checked the apartment and located a male subject, identified as Jamarcus Kennedy, age 18, unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency Medical Aid was provided by officers and firefighters before medical personnel determined he was deceased.

Medical personnel also determined that the female victim in the parking lot had succumbed to her injury as well after providing medical aid. The initial investigation did reveal that two black male suspects approached the apartment building on foot and began shooting both victims. Kennedy was able to run into Moss’s apartment where he collapsed before police arrived. Both suspects ran from the area and had not been identified at the time of this release.
