Stephens County suspect who evaded arrest is now behind bars

Following a nearly week-long search, Stephens County authorities have arrested a Toccoa man wanted on burglary charges.

The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that deputies took 32-year-old Brandon Threlkeld into custody late Saturday night, August 9. He had outstanding warrants for first-degree burglary and criminal trespass.

Officials did not release details of Threlkeld’s arrest. More information is expected later. The sheriff’s office said more charges may be added as the investigation continues.
