CARNESVILLE, Ga. — South Franklin Elementary School turned imagination into inspiration during Career Day on Thursday, welcoming more than 700 students to explore their future goals through hands-on experiences.
Students arrived dressed as their dream careers, filling the halls with young firefighters, police officers, YouTubers, artists, and a wide range of other professions. The event gave students a chance not only to express their interests but also to begin connecting those dreams to real-world opportunities.
Throughout the day, students rotated through tables hosted by local businesses and organizations, including Now Georgia, where they learned about different career paths and what those jobs look like in practice. Representatives shared insights into their work, answered questions, and helped students better understand the steps it takes to pursue their interests.
During the three-hour outdoor event, students explored fire trucks and other emergency and service vehicles. They even got the chance to step into the role of a reporter, asking questions and practicing their storytelling.

School leaders say the goal of the event was to introduce students to a variety of careers early on and encourage them to start thinking about their future. The strong participation and engagement from students highlighted just how impactful those early conversations can be.
NowGeorgia.com was proud to be part of the day, helping students discover new possibilities and see their futures in a broader light.
