An 11-year-old boy was shot dead late Wednesday night in Columbus. Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan identified the victim as Kadin Harris. The child was pronounced dead at 10:49 at Piedmont Midtown Hospital.
The shooting took place on Apex Road near the intersection of River Road. Investigators with the Columbus Police Department appeared to be focused on a vehicle with multiple crime scene markers nearby in the roadway.
According to a press release from police the victim suffered from gunshot wounds indicating the 11-year-old was shot multiple times. A friend of the family posted on Facebook requesting support for the father of the child saying the boy was killed in a “shootout”.
