In this episode of Now We’re Talking, host Hazel Cording sits down with Crystal Youngblood, Resource Development Director for Circle of Hope, to discuss the organization’s work serving victims of domestic violence across Habersham, White, and Stephens counties.
The conversation covers how Circle of Hope supports individuals and families through emergency shelter, legal advocacy, counseling, and outreach services. Youngblood also addresses common misconceptions about domestic violence, including why leaving is often not a simple or immediate option, and the barriers many survivors face; such as housing, financial instability, and lack of support systems.
The episode also highlights Circle of Hope’s growing demand for services, current capacity challenges, and plans for a future supportive housing development aimed at helping survivors transition from crisis to long-term stability.
As part of that effort, Circle of Hope will host its annual Denim & Diamonds fundraiser, which helps fund services not covered by grants.
