DEMOREST, GA – The community is invited to an afternoon of choral music performed by Northeast Georgia’s professional treble choir, Lux, on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 3 p.m. at the Piedmont University Chapel.
Lux is a professional treble choir based in Northeast Georgia, dedicated to bringing beauty, hope, and connection through exceptional choral music. Composed of both professional musicians and singers from a variety of backgrounds, the ensemble is united by a shared passion for “creating meaningful musical experiences,” a news release from the university states.
Recent performances have included appearances at the Georgia American Choral Directors Association Conference, the Georgia Music Educators Association Conference, and the Southern Region American Choral Directors Association Conference in Memphis, TN.
Their program, The Shape of Time, explores the ways time is shaped by memory, anticipation, cycles, and repetition. The choir is directed by Piedmont University Alumna Emily Allison (BA ’03, MAT ’04) and Dr. Ashley Conway, assisted by Dr. Benji Stegner (BA ’11) on the piano.
Admission is free. Donations are welcome at the door.
